Road use scooters are classified as class 3 scooters. features include full suspension, increased weight capacity and can be used on roads. They can switch to a maximum of 4 mph for pavement or indoor use.
Class 3 vehicle users do not require a driving license but should obey the highway code at all times.
You are required to register with the DVLA . Our Mobility Advisers will be pleased to complete the necessary paperwork for you. Class 3 vehicles are not allowed on motorways or bus/cycle lanes. Insurance is not legally required, at present but strongly recommended.
All Class 3 vehicles must be fitted with front and rear lights, indicators, horn, mirrors and reflectors.use Scooters are not generally easily dismantled but can still be transported.
